Upcoming dropline GNOME 2.28

Postby saxa on Sat Aug 29, 2009 12:31 am

A lot of you out there are probably curious about the upcoming dlg 2.28. The new version is in the works.
We need people to help us with the thing to have it quicker released and finished. I can say that anybody who want
to help would need to have the following things set up:

1) Clean Slackware 13.0 system without KDE and Seamonkey installed.
2) Latest version of DBS which you find in svn on sf.net
3) Subscribed to the development mailing list on sf.net we have

For all of you just curious on how the work is progressing you can follow it from the main web page
where are the links for to the ChangeLogs.

As said in the other thread, we are not dead and thanks to the great, big, and hyperactive brasilian soul
named Tiago Souza we have a set of packages which are alpha for i686 arch, on slackware 13.0

Get them from here for now:

http://redos.si/~tiagosou/slackware-13.0/x86/2.28/base

Those are ALPHA packages and most probably need a lot of work to be fully working as a finished desktop.

I hope to have some time soon to release an alpha installer for them.

Please use this thread to report things not working. If you want to really help please use our bug tracker
on sf.net:

http://sourceforge.net/apps/trac/dropline-gnome/wiki

Remember that you need an sf.net account to create tickets on sf.net.

I've been out of the slackware loop for quite awhile.. I may setup 13.0 64bit this weekend
to tinker around with.

Thats great to hear stik, the only bad thing is that 2.28 x86-64 is far away of being compilled completely. I most probably will just skip the 2.28 version and start working on 2.30. It all depends on my time availability.

Anyway whatever bugs we can squash out from Tiagos 2.28 packages will serve us for 2.30 being more polished.
