Debian or Slackware?

Postby sjohn on Thu Dec 10, 2009 5:50 am

Hello,

What do you prefer? I like Slackware, however after trying Ubuntu in a pure
console environment, i guess that Debian could work as well. They're both
in the category of the oldest linux distributions and they're stable as hell ;)

So tell me which you prefer, i've used Slackware a lot but i might switch to Debian.

I use slackware from release 3.4 iirc, in any case tried many many distros at the time i begun with linux. After some time I always came back to slack. But the simplicity it has for me is uncomparable to other distros.
To be honest never tried Debian, I installed ubuntu for some my friends, but i still use and will use slackware. It is no mater how old one distro is, I believe it is important how well is done and how you feel it.
The best thing is to try it, and see yourself if it suits you.
